Our monthly, Saturday morning, newborn workshop is suitable for expectant or new parents of babies 6 weeks and under.
The workshop takes place monthly on a Saturday morning at The Actress, from 10.30-12pm. The relaxed format is a lovely way to improve your understanding of slings so that you are confident to use them, and try different options out, in a sociable and relaxed group setting. Please do pre-book if you intend to join us.
The workshop will leave you able to:
Understand how to position your new baby safely and comfortably in any sling or carrier.
Know what TICKS safety nmemoic stands for and how to apply it
Understand the different types of slings on the market suitable for this stage and why all are not equal!
Put on a stretchy wrap (material sling), ring sling and a newborn-suitable buckle carrier of your choice.
Adjust your sling so that it’s comfortable for your back, and how to share between parents (or choose something that suits each of you).
Monitor your little one’s temperature and dress them appropriately
Understand how to bottle or breastfeed safely in a sling or carrier, with further practice.
There will be time to ask questions as we go, and to practice putting on the slings with demo dolls (or your real baby). Please feel free to feed, cuddle and care for your baby as normal throughout, we can always repeat things if necessary.
There’s space to bring buggies, and free parking outside on the street. There’s also baby change facilities and you are welcome to purchase hot or cold drinks at the bar during the workshop.
After the workshop, there will be time to hire or purchase any sling that you would like to take home, so please do allow extra time for this. All payments are by credit or debit card (sorry, no amex).
Finally, you’ll recieve an email following the workshop, with videos and links to help you practice your new skills.
Please pre-book to attend. £12 for one adult / £8 for an additional adult. Bring as many babies as you like!
